Happy Holidays!

It is that time of year once again!  It is hard to believe the holidays are upon us once again!  I hope you are enjoying yourselves with family and friends.  This should be a joyous time of celebration for all.

However, for some with epilepsy, it can be more difficult to handle.  Although it is pleasant to be in the company of relatives, it can be stressful.  This extra stress, in turn, can induce more seizures.  It is very important to therefore, take a break from the hubbub from the activity and set aside a time to rest, even if it is tempting to stay out where all the fun is going on.

Lack of sleep is also a seizure trigger, as is alcohol for some people.  It is important to be aware of these triggers and know how you are feeling.

Of course, there will be unexpected events, but it is important to do the utmost to prevent seizures if at all possible.

Hope you all have a happy and safe holiday!
